Why is it important to wash make-up off?

When we sleep, our body heals any tiny damages we have done throughout the day to our bodies. By leaving make-up on, we are allowing the open pores to have more time to absorb the make-up.

Best habits would be to take your make-up off immediately when you get home, or use make-up wipes to take it off on the go when you don't need it anymore. If you know you're going to be wearing make-up all day, try to buy make-up with a dual purpose to eliminate the amount of products on your face (like foundation w/SPF). Avoid products with talc or bismuth because they tend to cause irritation and breakouts.

Another time when it is especially important to take make-up off is before exercise. When you work out, you sweat. Sweating is your body's natural way of cooling itself while perspiring out the toxins from the pores. When wearing make-up, there is then a barrier that makes it difficult to break through. It then gets stuck on the surface of your skin and creates a greasy mess that could lead to breakouts and dryness while it is sitting on your face.

Sweating is actually good because it naturally clease your skin. It releases toxins and dirt that is clogged in your pores. When the sweat dries, all the toxins are then sitting on your face, as well as any make-up so it is especially important to wash your face before you start to exercise!

As an extra tip: Make sure to use a good moisturizer after cleaning your face. It rejuvenates your skin!
