Happy Sunday...
Today's video is a real treat for me. It is a clip featuring my
favorite Holiday song of all time... Bing Crosby singing White
Christmas. In fact when you click on the link you'll see the clip
from the DVD and Bing gives a little insight on the song.
On a side note... did you know that the song White Christmas
first appeared in the movie Holiday Inn... not White Christmas?
But for me the song and movie White Christmas will ALWAYS be
something I treasure as every year I share it with my mom and
sister. We'll watch the movie and even if we're not together
we'll tell each other about it and always quote from it.
And... I think I've shared this before... my mom will always
tell me the same things about the actors, like Vera Ellen had
the smallest waist and was Anorexic.
Danny Kaye's wife wrote many of his songs in his other movies
and many other tidbits. It's always the same and it just makes
me smile.
I hope you all have wonderful memories of one Holiday movie
or another like we do.

Ray Stevens - The Streak
Ray Stevens was inspired to write this after reading an article
about streaking, which was a fad among college students where
they would run around naked in public.
By the time Stevens recorded this, a bunch of other songs about
streaking had already been released. He took it to a Nashville
radio station, and the song got a great response when they
played it.
Five days after this was released, one of the most high-profile
streaks took place at the Academy Awards, when advertising
executive Robert Opel streaked past David Niven on live TV.
This added to the public's fascination with streaking and
helped make the song a huge hit.
