CLAIM TO FAME: He is best known as a child star on the sitcom Silver Spoons.
FAMILY LIFE: Schroder married Andrea Bernard on September 26, 1992. Together, they have four children: Holden Richard Schroder (born January 8, 1992), Luke William Schroder (born August 14, 1993), Cambrie Schroder (born November 27, 1996), and Faith Anne Schroder (born August 8, 2001).
INFO: Schroeder made his acting debut in the 1979 remake of the movie The Champ. For this role, he won the Golden Globe Award for Best New Male Star of the Year in a Motion Picture at the age of nine. He appeared in the Walt Disney feature film called The Last Flight of Noah's Ark, and played the title character in the film Little Lord Fauntleroy alongside Alec Guinness in 1980.
He became a star with his role in the television series Silver Spoons as Ricky Stratton. When he got older, he had a harder time making it as an actor, and so he changed his name credit from Ricky to Rick.
He ended up in a co-starring role in the Western mini-series Lonesome Dove and its sequel, Return to Lonesome Dove, which helped him be recognized as a grown up actor. He appeared on three seasons of NYPD Blue as Danny Sorenson and as Mike Doyle on the 2007 season of the TV series 24.
TRIVIA: Is a convert to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
His wife Andrea is an interior designer and was a contestant on Season Two of Top Design on Bravo.
Spoke at the 2000 Republican National Convention in Philadelphia.
Has a sister, Dawn.
Was ranked #18 in VH1's list of the 100 Greatest Kid Stars and #33 in VH1's list of the 100 Greatest Teen Stars.
Wrote and directed the 2004 feature film Black Cloud, a drama about a Navajo boxer.
Directed and starred in the music video for "Whiskey Lullaby", a song by Brad Paisley and Alison Krauss.
WHERE IS HE NOW: Schroeder directed the 2009 horror film Hellhounds. He made a guest appearance in a 2011 episode of ABC's No Ordinary Family. This year, he starred in the Hallmark movie Our Wild Hearts, in which his daughter Cambrie co-starred. Schroeder also has a reality show project for the U.S. Army.
Aside from acting, Schroeder serves as a celebrity ambassador for the child abuse prevention and treatment non-profit organization Childhelp. He is also a Life Member of the National Rifle Association.
