BIRTH DATE: April 21, 1939, New York City, New York, U.S.

CLAIM TO FAME: He is known for his roles in the film Dirty Harry and the TV series Seinfeld.

INFO: Santoni's career began in off-Broadway theatre. His first big film role was in the 1964 film The Pawnbroker.

His first leading role was as the young actor in Carl Reiner's Enter Laughing. He also starred in 1971's Dirty Harry as Inspector "Chico" Gonzalez, in 1983's Bad Boys as prison official Ramon Herrera, and in the 1986 action film Cobra as detective Tony Gonzales.

He has made TV appearances on such shows as Barnaby Jones, Lou Grant, Hawaii Five-O, Hardcastle and McCormick, Hill Street Blues, The Odd Couple and Midnight Caller.

TRIVIA: Briefly played professional baseball and originally planned on being a sports journalist.

Made his reputation as an actor in Off-Broadway revues in which he specialized in portraying oddball characters.

WHERE IS HE NOW: Santoni continues to act on occasion. He appeared in the 2009 independent film Irene in Time as Sam, and on a 2012 episode of the TV series Franklin & Bash.
