BIRTH DATE: November 29, 1961, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

CLAIM TO FAME: She is known for her starring role as Detective Diane Russell on the ABC drama television series NYPD Blue.

FAMILY LIFE: Delaney was first married to actor Charles Grant from 1984-1988. She was married to actor Joseph
Cortese from 1989-1994. Delaney and Cortese had a son named Jack who was born in 1990.

INFO: Delaney worked as a model for the Elite Agency while she was in high school. After she graduated, she went to New York and began working as a model. She also studied acting with William Esper during this time.

One of her first roles was playing Jenny Gardner in the ABC daytime television drama All My Children. Later, she had leading roles in the TV dramas Philly, CSI: Miami and on the Lifetime television drama Army Wives.

TRIVIA: Has a dog named Penny (a Dachshund) and Sydney (a half Corgi mix).

Was raised Roman Catholic.

Graduated from John W. Hallahan Catholic Girls' High School in Philadelphia in 1977.

Is the only girl born in the middle of four brothers.

WHERE IS SHE NOW: From 2007-2012, she played Claudia Joy Holden on the Lifetime Television series Army Wives. She is slated to play Mary Todd Lincoln in the upcoming miniseries To Appomattox.
