CLAIM TO FAME: Playing Hercules in Hercules: The Legendary Journeys

FAMILY LIFE: He has been married to actress Sam Jenkins since 1998. They have three children together: Braedon Cooper (born 2001) and Shane Haaken (born 2004) and daughter Octavia Flynn (born 2005).

INFO: Sorbo's acting career began in the late 1980s with guest appearances in TV series, including 1st & Ten, Murder She Wrote and The Commish. In 1994, he found fame with the role of Hercules in the television film Hercules and the Amazon Women. This led to television films that eventually led to the TV series Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, which ran from 1995 to 1999.

TRIVIA: Is of Norwegian descent and was raised in a Lutheran family.

Attended Minnesota State University Moorhead.

Was runner-up to Dean Cain for the role of Superman on TV's "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman" (1993).

An avid golfer, he is a celebrity spokesman for Dixon Golf, an eco-friendly golf company in Tempe, Arizona.

Has a park named after him in Mound, Minnesota, called Sorbo park.

Reported to have suffered several small strokes during the filming of "Hercules: The Legendary Journeys" (1995).

Provided the voices of Reiko and Quan Chi in the 1997 video game Mortal Kombat 4.

Voiced one of the main protagonists, Prometheus, in the Wii video game The Conduit.

WHERE IS HE NOW: From 2000 to 2005, Sorbo played the role of Captain Dylan Hunt in the science-fiction drama series Andromeda. In 2006, he appeared in a recurring role on the final season of The O.C. and guest-starred in the sitcom Two and a Half Men.

The following year, he starred in Walking Tall: The Payback, and reprised the role in Walking Tall: Lone Justice. He appeared in the 2008 spoof film Meet the Spartans, which ended up finding box office success.

Sorbo returned to the role of Hercules in the video game God of War III released for the PlayStation 3 in March 2010.

Sorbo is the spokesman and chair of A World Fit For Kids! (AWFFK!), a non-profit organization that trains teenagers to become mentors to younger children.
