BIRTH DATE: March 7, 1945, Washington, D.C.

CLAIM TO FAME: He is known for playing Peter McCallister in the first two installments of the Home Alone movie series.

FAMILY LIFE: Heard's first marriage was in 1979 to actress Margot Kidder, which only lasted six days. He has a son named Jack with ex-girlfriend Melissa Leo. He is divorced from his second wife, Sharon Heard, by whom he has two children, Max and Annika. He was married for a third time to Lana Pritchard from May 24, 2010 to December 22, 2010.

INFO: Heard began his career in the 1970s with roles on the stage, television, and film. Off-Broadway, he appeared in 1974 in Mark Medoff's The Wager and at the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center in 1977 in a series of new plays. In 1981, he starred in the film Cutter's Way in the role of Alex Cutter.

Some of his other films in the 1980s include the remake of Cat People, C.H.U.D. (Cannibalistic Humanoid Underground Dwellers), The Trip to Bountiful, Heaven Help Us, The Milagro Beanfield War, Big, Beaches, and played real-life Ku Klux Klan leader D.C. Stephenson in the TV-miniseries Cross of Fire in 1989.

In 1990, he starred as Kevin's dad (Peter McAllister) in the hit comedy Home Alone, and reprised the role for its 1992 sequel Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.

He has also appeared in the film Awakenings with Robert de Niro and Robin Williams, The Pelican Brief, Out on a Limb, One Eight Seven, and in the 2000 miniseries Perfect Murder, Perfect Town.

On television, he appeared on The Sopranos as crooked cop Vin Makazian for which he received an Emmy nomination as outstanding guest actor, and on Battlestar Galactica as Commander Barry Garner.

TRIVIA: Attended Gonzaga College High School, then went on to graduate from Clark University in Worcester, MA.

Listed as one of twelve "Promising New Actors of 1977" in John Willis' Screen World, Vol. 29.

His father worked for the Pentagon.

Has two sisters and one brother, Matthew, who died in 1975.

Won Obie Awards for his performances in Othello and Split in 1979-80.

WHERE IS HE NOW: He had recurring roles on CSI: Miami (as Kenwall Duquesne, father of Calleigh Duquesne) and Prison Break (as Frank Tancredi, Governor of Illinois and father of Sara Tancredi).

In 2006, he starred in the independent film Gamers: The Movie and had a part in the Touchstone Pictures movie, The Guardian. In 2007 he played the sheriff in the Denzel Washington-directed film, The Great Debaters.

On April 23, 2009, he appeared in an episode of Southland. Recently, Heard was seen on FOX's The Chicago Code for two episodes as the Mayor of Chicago.

In 2011 he appeared as Lehman Brothers COO Joe Gregory in Too Big to Fail, an HBO film.
