Hello fans,

Merry Christmas Eve, readers! I am off work today and
headed to my dad's house for the afternoon, and then
to my aunt's house with my boyfriend for dinner with
the family. I hope everybody has a safe and happy
holiday!

Today, we're catching up with Jill Whelan, who was just
a young girl when she was on the hit series The Love
Boat. She is still keeping busy these days - let's find

BIRTH DATE: September 29, 1966, Oakland, CA


CLAIM TO FAME: She is best known for playing the role of
Vicki, the daughter of Capt. Stubing, on the hit television
series The Love Boat.


FAMILY LIFE: Her first marriage was to Brad St. John from
1993-1996. They have one son, Harrison. She married her
second husband, Michael Chaykowsky, in 2004, and they had a
son named Grant in 2006.


INFO: Whelan attended summer acting camp when she was
seven, and soon after landed a series of commercials. At
age 11, she appeared in the short-lived TV series Friends
(1979). That same year, she played the role of the sick
girl, Lisa Davis, in the hit film Airplane! In 1978, she
landed the role of Vicki Stubing on the television series
The Love Boat. She remained on the show until its cancel-
lation in 1987.

Whelan took a break from acting to attend school; she later
graduated from the The Buckley School in Sherman Oaks,
California and continued on to college in England at
Guildford College. When she returned to the United States,
she moved to New York City and found work in several off-
Broadway productions, and then took a job as an event
producer at Madison Square Garden.

TRIVIA: Served as a national spokesperson for First Lady
Nancy Reagan's Just Say No anti-drug campaign during the
1980s.

Met her second husband while working at Madison Square
Garden, but they didn't marry until over a decade later.

Worked as an investigative producer at LA's KCOP television
station for four years.

Married her second husband aboard the cruise ship Caribbean
Princess.


WHERE IS SHE NOW: Whelan currently hosts a talk radio show
on The Big Talker 1210am in Philly. She runs a successful
acting studio for children and adults where she teaches
improv comedy, scene study, film, television and commercial
acting.

she also stars in a one-woman show that she co-wrote
and produced called Jill Whelan: An Evening in Dry Dock,
which she has performed off-Broadway in NYC and other venues
along the East coast.

She is currently working with partner Megan Herrick on a
radio show called Venus Diaries, which tackles issues and
conversations that real women deal with on a daily basis.
Whelan writes, produces, and co-hosts the show.
