CLAIM TO FAME: One of his best known roles was playing Kelly Leak in comedy The Bad News Bears as a child actor.
FAMILY LIFE: Haley's first marriage was to Sherry Vaughan in 1979. He has two children: a son, Christopher (born 1986), by his second wife, and a daughter, Olivia (born 1998), mother, Jennifer Hargrave. He married his third wife, Amelia Cruz, in 2004.
INFO: His feature film debut was in the offbeat 1972 film The Outside Man. He made several guest appearances on television shows before playing Kelly Leak in 1976's Bad News Bears. He also played Moocher in Peter Yates' 1979 film Breaking Away and later in the short-lived TV series of the same name.
Haley dropped off the map for most of the 1990s and early 2000s, when he found success as a producer and director of television commercials. In 2006, he returned to acting with a role in Steven Zaillian's All the King's Men, and went on to give a critically acclaimed performance as a recently paroled sex offender in Todd Field's Little Children. He received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor for his role and was invited to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
TRIVIA: Is the son of Haven Earle "Bud" Haley, a radio show host/disc jockey and actor.
Was number 87 on VH1's "The Greatest: 100 Greatest Kid Stars" (2005).
One of 115 people invited to join AMPAS in 2007.
Has a Black Belt.
WHERE IS HE NOW: Haley owns JEH Productions in San Antonio, Texas. In 2008, he appeared in the film Semi-Pro, and starred in Winged Creatures alongside Kate Beckinsale, Guy Pearce and Dakota Fanning. In 2009, he starred in Zack Snyder's adaptation of the Alan Moore graphic novel, Watchmen, as the masked vigilante Rorschach. In 2010, Haley appeared in Shutter Island as a patient of a hospital for the criminally insane.
He played the role of Freddy Krueger in the 2010 remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street, and has signed on to play the role in three installments in the series.
Haley appeared regularly on the Fox series Human Target as Guerrero, an ally of the protagonist Christopher Chance. The series premiered on January 17, 2010, and lasted two seasons before being cancelled in May 2011.
He played Willie Loomis in the 2012 film adaptation of Dark Shadows, directed by Tim Burton, and played Confederate States Vice President Alexander H. Stephens in Lincoln, directed by Steven Spielberg.
