. . . Where Are They Now? . . .

Hello fans,

I have been excited about Halloween (even though it's over a month away) and was in the mood to watch a scary movie the other night. I put in The Omen (1976) and when it was over I wondered what made me decide to watch it by myself. I also wondered who the child actor who played Damien Thorn was, and decided to check him out and see if he is still an actor.

Hence, my inspiration for this week's issue featuring actor Harvey Spencer Stephens, who played Damien in the disturbing horror film...

Take care,
Melissa

BIRTH DATE: November 12, 1970, Putney, London, England

CLAIM TO FAME: He was the child actor who played Damien Thorn, the Antichrist in "The Omen."

FAMILY LIFE: Has a wife Emma and one child.

INFO: Stephens was four years old when he was chosen to play the part of Damien in The Omen. This was his only major credit. He also had a small role in the 1980 TV film Gauguin the Savage.

TRIVIA: Parents are Jim and Jackie Stephens.

Had his blonde hair straightened and dyed black to play Damien Thorn.

According to Omen director Richard Donner, he got the part after he beat up Donner and punched him in the testicles, at Donner's urging.

WHERE IS HE NOW: Stephens disappeared from the screen until 2006 when he had a brief cameo as Tabloid Reporter #3 in the "Omen" remake.

He once worked as a futures trader in the London stock market, and has also been a property developer. He lives with his wife and child in England. Occasionally, he will appear at horror conventions and autograph signings with his tricycle.

Interview footage of Stephens from 1996 was used in the 2005 documentary The Curse of the Omen, which detailed the supposed eerie coincidences surrounding the making of the film.
