BIRTH DATE: January 6, 1976, Milltown, New Jersey


CLAIM TO FAME: He is best known for his role as Jonathan
Bower on the popular TV series Who's the Boss?


FAMILY LIFE: He is the son of Margaret L. (nee Sillcocks)
and John J. Pintauro, a manager.


INFO: Pintauro's first acting role was on the television
soap opera As the World Turns in the early 1980s. In 1983,
he made his film debut in the horror film Cujo. He became
well-known for playing Jonathan Bower on the hit sitcom,
Who's The Boss? from 1984-1992.

When the show was cancelled, he took time off from acting
to attend Middlesex County College in Edison, New Jersey,
and later Stanford University to study English and theater.
He graduated in 2001.

Pintauro turned to stage acting, making his New York
theatre debut in 1999 in The Velocity of Gary (Not His Real
Name), a solo play by acclaimed playwright James Still.

He also appeared in Paula Vogel's play Hot 'n' Throbbing at
the Arena stage in Washington DC, and in the Charlotte
(N.C.) Repertory Theatre's production of Gross Indecency.

In December 2002, he appeared on stage in New York in
SourceWorks Theatre's revival of A Queer Carol, a
contemporary twist on the Dickens holiday classic.

TRIVIA: Declared that he is gay in a 1997 interview with
the National Enquirer tabloid.

Majored in drama at Stanford University.

Is an Eagle Scout.

Played trumpet in the Leland Stanford University Marching
Band (LSJUMB).

Donated many items to Rocky Stone to be given to less
fortunate kids as part of the Toy Mountain Campaign.

Is an only child.

Appeared on the game show Scrabble with Chad Allen and Brice
Beckham in 1988.


WHERE IS HE NOW: This year, Pintauro made guest appearances
on the TV series The Secret Life of the American Teenager
and Laugh Track Mash-ups.

He will be featured on an upcoming episode of a new travel
guide series being launched by MSN and FremantleMedia
