acting around this time, too. In the 1990s, Masterson
appeared in Beethoven's 2nd, and had roles on the TV
sitcoms Cybill and Roseanne.

When he first auditioned for That '70s Show, the original
casting director Debby Romano thought he was too old to be
part of the cast, but she changed her mind when she
discovered how funny he was, and he was cast as the
character Steven Hyde. Masterson appeared in all eight
seasons of That '70s Show, and this role led to more
frequent movie and TV roles.
