CLAIM TO FAME: He is best known for his role as Mac Robinson in the NBC sitcom Night Court.
FAMILY LIFE: He was previously married to Venus Duran, with whom he has three children. He is currently married to Dolorita Noonan and they have three children together.
INFO: Robinson has been performing since the 1960s. One of the first shows he appeared on was the NBC comedy Buffalo Bill as the role of Newdell. The show was canceled after only one season and replaced by Night Court.
Robinson was cast as Mac Robinson after the first season in 1984, and played the role until Night Court ended in 1992. Robinson has since appeared in many TV series including Home Improvement, House, The Bernie Mac Show, My Wife and Kids, Soul Food, Charmed, How I Met Your Mother, and My Name is Earl.
TRIVIA: Is a member of the Actors Studio.
Is considered by Playwright Lyle Kessler to be "one of the great American Actors."
Directed three episodes of Night Court.
WHERE IS HE NOW: Robinson has been working on the stage in recent years. In 2010, he appeared at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, and appeared as Troy in August Wilson's Fences at South Coast Repertory in Costa Mesa, CA from 1/22/10 until 2/21/10.
He has made recent television appearances on the TV series The Secret Life of the American Teenager, $#*! My Dad Says, and Harry's Law.
