CLAIM TO FAME: She is best known for her roles in the remake of Invasion of the Body Snatchers and The Dead Zone.
FAMILY LIFE: She is married to actor Tony Shalhoub. They have two adopted children together - Josie Lynn Shalhoub (b.1988) & Sophie Shalhoub (b.1992).
INFO: Adams first appeared in television roles and low-budget films before landing a role in Days of Heaven (1978) and the remake of Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978). Other films include Cuba (1979), The Dead Zone (1983), Key Exchange (1985), and Gas Food Lodging (1992).
She appeared in the 2002 romantic comedy Made-Up, as well as in the films At Last and The Legend of Lucy Keyes (both 2005) and starred on Broadway in The Cherry Orchard, and Lend Me a Tenor.
TRIVIA: Attended the High School for the Performing Arts and the School of American Ballet.
Her sister is actress Lynne Adams.
Turned down offer to be one of the original Charlie's Angels.
Met husband Tony Shalhoub in 1988 when performing together on Broadway in "The Heidi Chronicles".
Is a staunch liberal Democrat.
WHERE IS SHE NOW: She most recently had an uncredited role in the 2012 TV movie Hemingway & Gellhorn. She'll next appear in the 2014 thriller The Adventures of Beatle. From 2002-2009, she made guest appearances on the television series Monk.
