CLAIM TO FAME: She is known for her role in many films, particularly Fatal Attraction.
FAMILY LIFE: Archer married William Davis in 1969; the couple divorced in 1977. She married Terry Jastrow in 1979. Archer has two sons, one from each marriage.
INFO: Archer got her start in the early 1970s with a television appearance in 1970 on the series Men At Law and in the 1972 film The Honkers.
She received an AcademyAward for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Beth Gallagher in the film Fatal Attraction.
She also appeared in the movies Patriot Games (1992) and Clear and Present Danger (1994), among many others.
Archer played Mrs. Robinson at the Gielgud Theatre in a West End production of The Graduate (2001).
She has appeared on such television shows as Hawaii Five-O, Little House on the Prairie, Falcon Crest, Boston Public, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Privileged, and Ghost Whisperer.
TRIVIA: Chosen by Empire magazine as one of the 100 Sexiest Stars in film history (#62).
Auditioned for the role of Lois Lane in Superman (1978), but lost to Margot Kidder.
Former Miss Golden Globe.
Her father, John Archer, played The Shadow on the radio.
Has German and English, as well as smaller amounts of Scottish and Northern Irish (Scots-Irish), ancestry.
Is the International Spokesperson for Applied Scholastics International, that provides training in "study technology" developed by L. Ron Hubbard.
WHERE IS SHE NOW: Her most recent role is in the 2014 feature film Lullaby, which will be released later this year. The film also stars Richard Jenkins, Amy Adams, Jennifer Hudson and Terrence Howard.
This summer, she made her Edinburgh Festival debut as Jane Fonda in the world premiere of The Trial of Jane Fonda. The play runs July 30 to Aug. 24 at the Music Hall, Assembly Rooms, George Street, Edinburgh, Scotland.
