Hair Types
To help you decide which type of a hair you have got ? follow
the following instruction meticulously. Pat a tissue on your
scalp the second day after washing your hair. If you find an
oil blot, you have normal hair. But if the tissue shows up
nothing, it is dry. And quite automatically if the strands
stick to each other then you have greasy hair .
Dry Hair
Dry hair happens due to dormant oil glands. Few other causes
of dry hair are factors like over exposure to the sun, using
a harsh shampoo and applying chemical treatment. Congregated
oil help in blocking the pores, not allowing the oil to flow
on to the surface. This happens to be another reason for dry
hair. Dry hair requires plenty of sustenance.
Try massaging well with a warm herbal oil at least two times
a week. Meticulously follow a diet rich in zinc. Try using a
mild shampoo and stay away from harsh ones as the chemicals
in them can strip hair of its outer protein layer, further
drying out the scalp. Also try and avoid using electric
curlers and hair dryers.
Oily Hair
Oily hair is normally accompanied with oily skin. It happens
due to the over secretion of oil. Therefore the scalp and
hair ? both gets too oily. One can easily recognise oily hair
as it appears greasy even after shampooing and and is prone to
attracting more dirt. The oily hair compulsorily needs to be
washed every third or fourth day or even more often depending
on individual comfort and it should be rinsed out with lemon.
One should use oils and shampoos which has rich content of
neem and henna. A head massage with a herbal oil helps
maintaining the pH level of the scalp. Try avoiding oily foods
and binge on green leafy vegetables and fruits.
