Hint 1:

You state paper plates are better because paper towels won't
stay in place. If you fold the paper towel in half and then
in half again and then wet one corner under the water and
then unfold it when you place it on food the four wet corners
will stop the paper towel from moving and they are cheaper
than paper plates.

Hint 2:

If you want to get ice cubes out of the tray easily-put a
drop or 2 of lemon in before you add the water...there is no
lemon taste
