Vanessa Williams Joins 'The Good Wife' ...
Vanessa Williams is to begin a recurring role on The Good Wife in November, CBS announced Monday.
Williams, 52, will play Courtney Boalt, "an extremely successful, self-made businesswoman who is potentially interested in backing Peter Florrick's campaign for president," press notes for Season 7 said. "In the process, she meets Eli Gold, [played by Alan Cumming,] sparking a mutual attraction."
Chris Noth plays Florrick, while Julianna Margulies plays his spouse Alicia.
"There are very few names you can put side-by-side that make you laugh," executive producers Robert and Michelle King said in a joint statement. "Alan Cumming and Vanessa Williams are at the top of that list. We couldn't be more excited."
Desperate Housewives and Ugly Betty alum Williams was the first African-American Miss America, but she was forced to relinquish her crown near the end of her term in 1984 after nude photos of her were sold to and published by Penthouse magazine without her permission.

Singer Phillip Phillips Embroiled In Fresh Legal Drama ...
American Idol winner Phillip Phillips is at the center of a fresh legal battle after his former managers filed a multi-million dollar lawsuit against his new team.
The move comes months after Phillips sued 19 Entertainment, the company behind American Idol, demanding he be released from all his deals linked to the TV show, including his recording contract and merchandising agreements.
He also moved to dismiss his management team at 19 in late 2014, two years after winning season 11 of the hit reality TV show in 2012, and reportedly struck a new deal with Michael McDonald of Mick Management.
Bosses at 19 have now filed a $2 million lawsuit against McDonald and his company at Manhattan Supreme Court in New York City, according to the New York Post.
January Jones Splits From Co-star Will Forte ...
January Jones has reportedly split from her The Last Man On Earth co-star Will Forte after five months of dating.
The former Mad Men star struck up a romantic relationship with the comedian earlier this year after playing the object of Forte's affection in the new comedy series.
However, a source tells Us Weekly they reportedly called it quits last month.
Both Forte and Jones attended the 2015 Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday, but the funnyman brought his mum as his date for the night, while Jones spent most of her time with the cast of Mad Men.
Jones has previously dated director Noah Miller, singer Josh Groban, and Forte's former Saturday Night Live castmate Jason Sudeikis. She has a three-year-old son, Xander, but has never revealed who the father of her child is.

The dancer who will officially retire after they're Broadway debut?
It's Michael Flatley... He will officially hang up his tap shoes in January after making his Broadway dreams come true with a limited run of his show Lord Of The Dance: Dangerous Games.
The former Riverdance star had previously considered bowing out after debuting the show in Dublin, Ireland, earlier this year, but he has since pushed back his retirement date after landing the opportunity to hit the stage in New York's famous theater district
He says, "Last year, I decided my legs and my back had taken such a beating over the years. I said, 'You know, it's time.' I have a beautiful wife and a lovely, beautiful eight-year-old son and I said 'I've got to spend more time with them.'"
The 57 year old admits he will check off his final bucket-list wish by performing on Broadway.
He says, "That's the last dream. My wife and my team asked, 'Is there anything else we haven't done in this career?' I said, 'I've never done Broadway and I want to dance in the greatest place in the world.'"
Flatley's Lord of the Dance: Dangerous Games will run for eight weeks at the Lyric Theater from 7 November until 3 January.
