Hello Everyone...

I was a DJ for a few years in college, and I always liked to have some kind of theme for the weekly hour-long show. Some themes include rock remixes, songs featuring saxophones, and songs from movies. B-sides and rarities were my favorite however, since it gave a new life to otherwise pushed aside gems. Oftentimes these were lesser-known covers by unlikely bands. One of the coolest bands that I got into during my time at school has to be Cake.

I've heard their overall genre be described as "college rock" though I'm not sure what that means. Their guitar work sounds almost sloppy, but it it has a certain charm that I've yet to see in another band. Their light humor tinges the cool delivery of everything the lead singer says. Here's an unlikely cover of "I Will Survive"
