There are some foods worse than others for us. Unfortunately, some people think what they are eating is healthy for them, when it is in fact, not. I have been making this mistake myself! I am guilty of eating atleast 3 of the things on this list "in moderation" while dieting. The following foods are foods that should really be avoided, despite what people may say about them!

Trans Fat
Trans Fat is one of the absolute worst ingredients of all that is in a lot of foods. The limit of daily consumption is only 2%. We unknowingly eat multiple items with .5 grams of it in a single day, overindulging. It is really best to avoid trans fats completely.

Pancakes
In conjunction with the above statement, Pancakes are loaded with trans fat, but are served in numerous areas without any safety tags, warnings, or even just a make up of ingredients shown.

Fast Food
Fast Food is another criminal when it comes to trans fat. It is added sometimes just to make something taste better in fast food restaurants. Even small portions of fast food can give you a whole week's dose of trans fat.

Frozen Meals
Frozen Meals are often eaten by people trying to lose weight. They contain high doses of hydrogenated oils, which are a MAJOR source of trans fat. It may contain less sodium, less calories, etc. than other foods, but it still has a high dosage of trans fat.

Cake Frosting
Believe it or not, actual cake mix does not contain trans fat. However, the frosting we put on the cakes that are bought in the store, do in fact contain high sources of trans fat.

Packaged Cookies
Packaged Cookies are sometimes advertised as being free of trans fat, or low levels of trans fat. But, if you actually look at the ingredients, you will see that trans fat is still very much present in the packaged, even the ones that say they have none. They may just be under another name.

Monosodium Glutamate or MSG
A lot of doctors lately have come to the conclusion that not only is MSG unhealthy, it can also be a cause for an inability to focus or sit still. When children are being tested for things like ADD or ADHD, MSG is the first thing they tell you to cut out to see if that makes a difference. It is in a lot of foods, more than you think. Specifically fried foods, chips, and things like Ranch Dressing. Always check the packaging!

For anyone who is trying to lose weight, or just eat and feel healthier (like me!), check what you are putting in your mouth. And, when you go out to a restaurant, ask for an ingredients list. Yes, sometimes it may annoy people, but I'd rather know what I'm going to be working off at the gym later!
