Tara Reid, Ian Ziering Say 'Sharknado 3' Is 'Ridiculous'...
Tara Reid and Ian Ziering say Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No is ridiculous but fun.
The 39-year-old actress and 51-year-old actor discussed the TV movie with WGN 9 ahead of the film's July 22 premiere on the Syfy channel. Reid and Ziering starred as April and Fin Shepard in Sharknado and Sharknado 2: The Second One, and will reprise the characters in the sequel.
"It's so fun shooting these movies," the actor said. "I'm also a fan of the genre, so I like watching them as well. I get it, I understand now why they're so successful, because it's just a good, fun movie. It's kind of like it started its own genre -- the fun movie."
Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No is set in Washington, D.C., and co-stars Cassie Scerbo, David Hasselhoff and Bo Derek. Both Sharknado and Sharknado 2: The Second One proved surprisingly popular with audiences -- the latter is the most-watched TV movie to air on Syfy,
"All the time, I'm thinking, 'How am I going to pull this off? How am I going to say this dialogue? You've got to be kidding me,'" Reid admitted to Fox News. "It's ridiculous, and I have to take it seriously. But somehow it works."
"It's over the top, but it's over the top in a great way, and I've stopped questioning it," Ziering added to The Hollywood Reporter. "These movies are rated awesome, and they're not intended for overthinkers ... It's a campy, cheesy science-fiction movie, and it's wildly absurd."
Sharknado and Sharknado 2: The Second One debuted to audiences of 1.37 and 3.9 million, respectively. Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No will premiere Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET, and also features appearances by Mark Cuban, Ann Coulter and Michele Bachmann.

Demi Lovato Denies She's Engaged to Wilmer Valderrama...
Demi Lovato has denied on Instagram that she's engaged to boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama.
The 22-year-old singer shared a photo of herself and the 35-year-old actor holding hands Sunday, but shot down engagement rumors in the caption.
"He's there for me when others aren't... He supports me when others won't... He loves me when others don't," she wrote. "(not engaged... yall are crazy)."
Lovato and Valderrama have been an on-again, off-again couple since 2010, the year the singer entered rehab for bulimia and substance abuse issues. Lovato celebrated her third year of sobriety in March and often credits Valderrama with helping her recovery.
"I am very, very in love with him," she said of the actor to New Zealand radio station ZM last week. "I think we will probably wait a little bit longer [to get engaged], but if he asked me tomorrow, I would say yes."
Sigourney Weaver Says 'Alien vs. Predator' Was Depressing...
Sigourney Weaver says crossover film Alien vs. Predator was depressing.
The 65-year-old actress discussed the 2004 movie at London Film and Comic Con on Monday. Weaver starred in the original Alien (1979) and sequels Aliens (1986), Alien 3 (1992) and Alien Resurrection (1997), and told fans Alien vs. Predator killed the chance of Alien director Ridley Scott helming a sequel.
"[Alien vs. Predator] really depressed me because I was very proud of the movies," she shared. "I've got nothing against building a movie on a video game, but at the time it was, as James Cameron said, I think publicly, 'Why would you want to do that?' It's like making Alien meets the Wolfman."
The film was directed by Resident Evil helmer Paul W.S. Anderson, and received generally negative reviews from critics. The movie is based on the crossover comics and video games, and inspired sequel Alien vs. Predator: Requiem (2007), directed by Greg and Colin Strause.
Scott went on to helm Noomi Rapace in Prometheus (2012), which takes place in the same universe as Alien and is slated for a sequel. Weaver, meanwhile, is attached to reprise Ellen Ripley in a new Alien film directed by Neill Blomkamp and scheduled for release in 2017.
Blomkamp shared new concept art for the movie last week on Instagram, writing, "#alien going very well. Love this project." Weaver last appeared in the director's film Chappie, and is also scheduled to portray a new character in the Avatar sequels

The funny lady and talk show host who is going to host a Cooking Channel series 'Holy & Hungry'...
It's Sherri Shepherd... the new series will premiere on the Cooking Channel on Aug. 23.
"Holy & Hungry celebrates something that people of all religions enjoy -- delicious food," Michael Smith, general manager and senior vice president of the Cooking Channel, said in a statement Tuesday. "The unique lens of faith to explore food is unlike any other series on Cooking Channel, and Sherri Shepherd's appreciation and ability to relate to the faithful people spreading their love for their faith through their food, makes her the perfect host."
"Eating has always been like a religious experience for me. Growing up, my father was a deacon and my mother always cooked all of our meals, so we had good food on the table and faith in our hearts. I'm excited to share the personal stories and mouthwatering recipes of those who are just as passionate about food and faith as I am," added Shepherd, an actress, author, comedian and former co-host of The View.
Cooking Channel said it has ordered six half-hour episodes of the program.
