Hint 1:

Toothpaste will remove tarnish, but here's the catch: It's
more abrasive than silver polish, so you should use it only
in a pinch and only on a small area. Follow these steps:
Moisten the silver, gently rub on a little paste with your
finger, rinse the spot thoroughly with warm water, and dry
with a soft, clean cloth. What you should not use: toothpaste
that contains tartar-control substances or whiteners.

Hint 2: I love this idea. This is a great activity to do as a
family, make a birdseed ornament to hang on a tree in your yard.

Melt 1/2 lb. coconut oil or lard, then mix in 1/2 lb. mixed birdseed, 3/4 lb crumbs from bread or crackers and minced peanuts. Let cool to room temperature, then spoon into a
greased cookie cutter. Let the mixture harden slightly in the freezer for an hour. Once frozen, pop it out of the cookie cutter. Heat the bottom of a metal skewer and pierce a hole for hanging. Thread an 8" piece of string through the hole. Finally, now you can hang this great treat for the birds on your tree in the yard.
