Here's the Scoop...

Lately, my wife and I have been watching those baking, cooking, decorating and various other food preparation programs on cable TV.

After watching the MasterChef Celebrity Showdown show Anisa told me about what actor Kal Penn was going to do with his winnings.

The 39 year old actor is donating his $25,000 prize to support Palestinian refugees.

"Only in America can a guy make tacos on FOX TV, almost lose an eye, and win $25,000 to support Palestinian refugees," said Penn. "I'm thrilled to be helping UNRWA do its critical work in Gaza and Syria. They're a lifeline for so many families that have been struggling for decades to meet their basic needs and achieve their rights."

"We are so fortunate as Americans to live in a country as prosperous as ours. Especially during the Christmas, Hannukah, and Kwanzaa holidays, and in hopes that the New Year will bring peace and prosperity around the world, I thought it was important to choose an organization that directly helps those facing impossible hardships, especially refugees," said Penn. "Much of our own media attention is focused away from the human stories of children and families who are suffering due to displacement against the rule of international law, terrorism, and violence from so many sides. So having the chance to cook for UNRWA USA on MasterChef seemed like the right thing to do."

That's great! I like stories like that. A celebrity trying to do what they can to help others because it's the right thing to do. Good for you, Kal Penn. You're a good man.

We're starting the week off on a positive note. I love it!

Be Well,
Steve

Donald Trump slams Arnold Schwarzenegger over 'New Celebrity Apprentice' ratings
Donald Trump called out Arnold Schwarzenegger on social media Friday over lower ratings his former reality show Celebrity Apprentice received with the actor at the helm.

"Wow, the ratings are in and Arnold Schwarzenegger got "swamped" (or destroyed) by comparison to the ratings machine, DJT," the president-elect wrote on Twitter referencing the show's high ratings was when he was host.

"So much for being a movie star-and that was season 1 compared to season 14. Now compare him to my season 1. But who cares, he supported Kasich & Hillary," he continued about how the former California governor and noted Republican did not support him during the election.

According to Entertainment Weekly, The New Celebrity Apprentice lost nearly half its 18-49 adults demo rating compared to the previous season from two years ago.

Notably, Trump maintains an executive producer credit on the program. Schwarzenegger has stated previously, however, that the hotel mogul and now president-elect would have no effect on the show.

The Terminator star responded to Trump's criticism on Twitter, writing, "There's nothing more important than the people's work," followed by "I wish you the best of luck and I hope you'll work for ALL of the American people as aggressively as you worked for your ratings."

Schwarzenegger then shared a video where he quoted Abraham Lincoln and asked to become friends with Trump now that the election is over.

"We are not enemies. We are neighbors, we are friends and most importantly we are all Americans and we have a lot of work to do to keep America great. So let's do it, and let's do it together."

David Spade sustains minor injuries in three-car crash
Actor and comedian David Spade suffered minor bumps and bruises in a car crash this week in front of the Beverly Hills Hotel.

TMZ said Spade's Range Rover was totaled in the incident, but the Saturday Night Live alum was not seriously injured.

Spade was reportedly heading to dinner Wednesday evening when he made a left turn at a busy intersection and his luxury SUV was hit by another car because the driver apparently sped up to beat a yellow light.

The collision caused Spade to veer into a third vehicle.

Law enforcement sources told the celebrity news website only minor injuries were reported from the scene and fault for the collision has not yet been determined. Neither alcohol nor drugs are believed to have been a factor.

Us Weekly cited an unnamed source as saying, "David was released from the hospital with a few aches and pains and bruises, but seems fine and is resting at home now."

Which professional wrestling icon deadlifted roughly 400 pounds at age 67?

Ric Flair is still stylin' and profilin' in the gym as the Nature Boy showcased how he can deadlift a large amount of weight at the age of 67.

"I. Will. Never. Retire. #17," Flair wrote on Twitter Wednesday alongside a video of himself performing a deadlift.

The WWE has described the amount of weight as "roughly 400 pounds."

The 16-time World Heavyweight Champion was seen smiling after the muscular feat proclaiming "whoa."

Flair last made headlines in October when he claimed on his podcast The Ric Flair Show that actress Halle Berry had taken a ride on Space Mountain, a euphemism the WWE Hall of Famer uses for having sex.

"She was in Atlanta and just got divorced from David Justice," Flair said at the time. "Would I have to make up a lie?"

While Flair is retired from in-ring competition, his daughter Charlotte continues to dominate the WWE's women's division having recaptured the Raw Women's Championship for a fourth time after defeating her rival Sasha Banks at Roadblock in December.
