TRIVIA TODAY - Monday, December 12, 2011

Greetings Infomaniacs,

I hope everyone had a great weekend! Tonight is my final class of the semester, and we have to give our group presentations of the big project we've been working on since September.

My group and I spent a good part of the weekend putting everything together and rehearsing what we are going to say, and now it's almost showtime!

I will be very glad when it is over and I finally have a few weeks off to relax. Oh, and I suppose I should do some Christmas shopping, too...

Enjoy!
Melissa

TODAY'S MYSTERY QUOTE

QUOTE: "We never know the worth of water till the well is dry."

HINT: (1608-1661), English churchman and historian.

RANDOM TIDBITS

At birth, water accounts for approximately 80 percent of an infant's body weight.

The average person in the United States uses anywhere from 80-100 gallons of water per day. Flushing the toilet actually takes up the largest amount of this water.

Water dissolves more substances than any other liquid. Wherever it travels, water carries chemicals, minerals, and nutrients with it.

The earth is a closed system, similar to a terrarium, meaning that it rarely loses or gains extra matter. The same water that existed on the earth millions of years ago is still present today.

Roughly 70 percent of an adult's body is made up of water.

The weight a person loses directly after intense physical activity is weight from water, not fat.

Water - Bottled or Hose?

These guests at this nice restaurant think they are drinking expensive bottled water, but they are really only drinking water from the hose outside the restaurant. They all think it tastes better, crisper, and lighter.

I am served at a table,
In gatherings of two or four;
Served small, white and round.
You'll love some,
And that's part of the fun.
What am I?
