Greetings Infomaniacs,
Congratulations to "Jeff Price" who won this week's "Mind
Scrambler". Here was the scrambler:
You?re at fault if you don?t halt,
when I am the color of blood.
Just hold steady or start to slow down,
when I am the shade of a golden crown.
Time to go? You may pass,
once I become the color of grass.
What am I?
ANSWER: Traffic light.
Enjoy!

RANDOM TIDBITS
A Charlie Brown Christmas is the longest-running cartoon
special in history, airing every year since its debut in
1965.
***
The television movie was originally a short documentary
produced in 1963 by Lee Mendelson about Charles Schulz
called A Boy Named Charlie Brown.
***
After the Peanuts made the cover of TIME magazine in 1965,
an advertising agent for the Coca-Cola company who had seen
the Schulz documentary called Mendelson and asked if
he had thought about creating a Peanuts Christmas special.

Sweeping the Nation - Peanuts
Peppermint Patty introduces the Peanuts gang to the sport
that's sweeping the nation, Motocross. Of course, Charlie
Brown wants to join the competition for fun as well.

Television executives hated the movie from the start. It
was criticized for being too religious, for featuring
contemporary jazz in a cartoon, for not having a laugh
track, and for using the voices of real children (except
for Snoopy, who was voiced by animator Melendez).
***
However, viewers and reviewers LOVED it. On Thursday,
December 9, 1965, A Charlie Brown Christmas was seen in
more than 15 million homes. It won critical acclaim as well
as an Emmy Award for Outstanding Children's Program and a
Peabody Award for excellence in programming.
***
The logo for Coca-Cola, the movie's first sponsor, appeared
several times in original footage of A Charlie Brown
Christmas. For instance, in the skating scene, Snoopy throws
Linus from the rink into a Coca-Cola sign. Later sponsors
objected, and the frames were edited out.
