TRIVIA TODAY - October 13, 2014

Greetings Infomaniacs,

If you're a fan of the TV series Friends, you'll enjoy today's trivia. Friends has always been one of my favorite shows. Even though I have seen every episode so many times that I can recite pretty much every line, I still will watch an episode if it comes on TV and laugh as if I'm seeing it for the first time. I'm not quite sure what this says about me, but there you go...

Enjoy!
Melissa

WHO SAID IT?

QUOTE: "Friendship is unnecessary, like philosophy, like art.... It has no survival value; rather it is one of those things that give value to survival."

HINT: (1898-1963), novelist, poet, academic, medievalist, literary critic, essayist, lay theologian, and Christian apologist.

RANDOM TIDBITS

Before they cast Friends the intended love story was between Monica and Joey, but show chiefs changed it to Ross and Rachel after seeing the chemistry between David Schwimmer and Jennifer Aniston.

Courteney Cox was supposed to play Rachel but then she asked to play Monica as she thought the character was stronger.

Gunther didn't have a name until the middle of the second season. And he didn't have a line until the 33rd episode. It was: "Hey."

The show was originally called Insomnia Cafe. It was then renamed Friends Like Us, and then Six of One before becoming Friends.

Bruce Willis appeared in the show for free after losing a bet with Matthew Perry about whether The Whole Nine Yards would be number one in the box office on its opening weekend. He donated his fee to charity.

In reality, Joey's white dog statue belonged to Jennifer Aniston. It had been given to her by a friend as a good-luck gift.
