Today is the Ides of March, another name for March 15 in the
Roman calendar. However, it is well-known as the date that
Julius Caesar was killed in 44 B.C. Caesar was warned by a
seer to "beware the Ides of March" because he was in great
peril but apparently he didn't take the warning as seriously
as he should have. He was assassinated that evening in the
Theatre of Pompey.
