What a busy weekend! I did a lot of cleaning and homework, and also did my annual walk for Polycystic Kidney Disease on Sunday. It's great that my family and friends come out to walk with me every year. I'll keep things short so you can get right to the trivia!

Saint Cassian of Imola was a Christian schoolteacher who refused to sacrifice to the Roman gods. As punishment, he was handed over to his pupils who stabbed him to death with their iron pens.

In ancient Persia, physicians were allowed to challenge a colleague's smarts by administering to each other a poison of choice. If a doctor wasn't quick enough to diagnose their symptoms and prepare the proper antidote, they were plain out of luck!

Bethlehem Hospital for the insane in London gave the word bedlam to the English language. The hospital moved to new quarters in 1930 and the old bedlam building was given over to the Imperial War Museum.

In 1471 the townspeople of Basel, Switzerland were horrified when a chicken laid a brightly colored egg, and accused the animal of being "a devil in disguise." They put the chicken on trial where it was found guilty and later burned at the stake.

The flag of Cuba was designed in New York City in June 1849 by a group of Cuban revolutionaries led by Narciso Lopez living in New York. In 1902, the flag they designed became the official flag of Cuba.
