The Ramones drummer Tommy Ramone dies at 65

The last-surviving original member of punk rock group The Ramones, Tommy Ramone, died Friday, his family said. He was 65. "Tom died yesterday, July 11, at 12:15 p.m. at his home in Ridgewood, Queens," Andy Schwartz, publisher of New York Rocker magazine, said on behalf of Ramone's family. "He was in hospice care following treatment for cancer of the bile duct." Ramone, who was born Erdelyi Tamas in Budapest, co founded The Ramones in 1974 alongside singer Joey Ramone, bassist Dee Dee Ramone and guitarist Johnny Ramone. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002 for their influence on the punk rock genre, with hits like I Wanna Be Sedated and Beat on the Brat. Johnny Ramone, born John Cummings, died in 2004 from prostate cancer; Joey Ramone, born Jeff Hyman, died in 2001 from lymphoma; and Dee Dee Ramone, born Douglas Colvin, died in 2002 of a drug overdose.

Stacy Keibler: Pregnancy no excuse to eat doughnuts

Former wrestler Stacy Keibler said that just because she's pregnant it's no excuse to start eating doughnuts. The 34-year-old mom-to-be said she's been trying to eat healthy during her pregnancy. "I really truly believe that pregnancy is not a time to have an excuse to eat doughnuts," Keibler told Us Weekly. "I haven't had any cravings believe it or not!" In fact, she said, she's been eating healthier than ever. "[Pregnancy] is a time to be as healthy as you can be and build the foundation for your baby. I think that you should be even more conscious of what you're doing," she said. Keibler is due to give birth to her daughter next month. It's her first child with husband Jared Pobre.

Katie Holmes moving to $4 million NYC apartment in 'family friendly' neighborhood

Katie Holmes is buying a new apartment in New York City. The former Dawson's Creek star is allegedly moving to a more family friendly neighborhood in the Big Apple with 8-year-old daughter, Suri. Sources tell Us Weekly that Holmes has been eyeing a $4 million dollar apartment "in a more neighborhood-y area." While the price may seem steep, the actress turned fashion designer pays a reported $12,000 a month in her current home. "The [new] place has three bedrooms, and she needs to do some work to it but not much," said the insider. News of Holmes' new venture in real state comes days after she made headlines for posing topless in the August issue of Glamour magazine. During her interview with the fashion glossy, the Giver actress said that she was "really focused on motherhood and work right now." "I didn't know how much love I had in me. It's overwhelming," she said. "Every day I discover more about this spectacular human being I get to be the mother of."

Garth Brooks returns to music, announces new album and worldwide tour

Garth Brooks has postponed retirement once again.
The 52-year-old country star plans to make a comeback with a new album and worldwide tour. Brooks retired from recording in 2000, and finished a five-year residency at the Encore Hotel in Las Vegas earlier this year. The singer announced a new record deal with Sony Music on Thursday, and jokingly told reporters he is both "scared" and "old." He also plans to make his catalogue of music digitally available for the first time. Fans can download songs exclusively on his website beginning July 15. Brooks' last studio album, Scarecrow, was released in 2001. His first new single could arrive "sometime in the next two months," and the upcoming record will debut around Thanksgiving. The album is reportedly "what we would traditionally think of as a double album, just because there's a lot to say." According to SoundScan's data from 1991 to the present, Brooks is the best-selling artist in the U.S. The musician has sold more than 69.6 million albums -- none of them online. Comparatively, The Beatles have sold 68.5 million, Metallica 54.42 million and Mariah Carey 54.4 million.
