Bob Simon remembered by CBS boss as a 'giant of broadcast journalism'...
Bob Simon, who died at age 73 Wednesday night after a New York car crash, is being remembered as a "giant of broadcast journalism" and "brilliant writer and reporter."

Shortly before his death, the 47-year veteran of CBS News had been preparing a 60 Minutes report on the Ebola virus and the quest for a cure for it for this Sunday's broadcast. He was working with his daughter, Tanya, a 60 Minutes producer with whom he collaborated on several stories for the program, the network said.

He earned more than 40 major awards, including 27 Emmys -- which CBS said is believed to be the most ever earned by a reporter for fieldwork -- throughout his storied career. He became a regular contributor to 60 Minutes in 1996.

"Bob Simon was a giant of broadcast journalism, and a dear friend to everyone in the CBS News family. We are all shocked by this tragic, sudden loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with Bob's extended family and especially with our colleague Tanya Simon," CBS News President David Rhodes said in a statement.

"It's a terrible loss for all of us at CBS News," added Jeff Fager, executive producer of 60 Minutes. "It is such a tragedy made worse because we lost him in a car accident, a man who has escaped more difficult situations than almost any journalist in modern times. Bob was a reporter's reporter. He was driven by a natural curiosity that took him all over the world covering every kind of story imaginable. There is no one else like Bob Simon. All of us at CBS News and particularly at 60 Minutes will miss him very much."

He is survived by his wife Francoise; daughter, Tanya, and her husband, Dr. Evan Garfein; and his grandson, Jack.

Adam Levine, Behati Prinsloo plan to have a baby soon...
Adam Levine and wife Behati Prinsloo plan to start a family in the near future.

The 35-year-old Maroon 5 frontman revealed as much when pressed by fellow The Voice coach Christina Aguilera at a press conference this week. Aguilera and fiancé Matthew Rutler welcomed daughter Summer Rain in August 2014, and the singer urged Levine to have babies of his own.

"Oh, dude. Soon," he told E! News when asked when he and Prinsloo plan to have children. "I don't know, Christina. We're looking at the next year. We have some time." Aguilera immediately suggested, "Next spring."

Levine and Prinsloo started dating in 2012, and temporarily broke up before getting engaged in July 2013. The couple married in July 2014, and attended the 2015 Grammy Awards together this week, where Levine performed a duet with Gwen Stefani.

Levine and Maroon 5 released their fifth studio album, V, in August 2014. The record debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, and includes the singles "Maps" and "Animals." The singer will return as a coach on season eight of The Voice on Feb. 23.

??? Guess Who ???

The actor who says, 'My children value me despite the fact I don't make many films anymore?'

It's Hugh Grant... He says he wanted to star in the new romantic comedy The Rewrite in part because he plays a screenwriter-turned-college-professor who realizes celebrity and self-worth are not the same thing -- a distinction Grant has made in real life, as well.

"I like the way that my character learns that there are other metrics by which to judge yourself than money and how much you're wanted in one particular trade. Suddenly he realizes, he is wanted by his students. He is valued by them and by the university, and I think that is rather touching," the 54-year-old father of three young children told UPI at a press conference in New York Tuesday.

"It's been a huge surprise to me with my children. They value me despite the fact that I don't make many films anymore and waste my time doing politics and stuff. They just like me anyway. It's rather like what happens to [my character] Keith."

Co-starring Marisa Tomei, J.K. Simmons, Chris Elliott, Allison Janney and Bella Heathcote, The Rewrite is to open in select theaters and video-on-demand platforms Friday. This marks the third collaboration between Grant and writer-director Marc Lawrence. They previously worked together on Two Weeks Notice and Music and Lyrics. Grant's other film credits include the rom-com classics Love Actually, Bridget Jones's Diary, Nine Months and Four Weddings and a Funeral.
