Tips For A Healthy Man

We all know that to be healthy we should eat right and exercise, make sure to get enough sleep and enough water. But just like with women, there is so much more to it for men. Women and men are built differently, so different things are important to each of them for a complete all around healthy body and mind. Here are some tips specifically for men!

1. Meditation
Believe it or not, 10-20 minutes of meditation to unwind and refocus yourself does help to prolong your life. It helps to lower blood pressure, improve immunity, improve cardiovascular functions, sleep better, and lower stress. It allows your mind and body to process the events of the day.

2. Sleep
As always, this will be on every single list for a healthy lifestyle. The proper amounts of sleep can make or break a healthy lifestyle. Sleep deprivation makes it harder to maintain your body health as well as makes your eating and work out habits less effective. You need to get 7 to 8 hours of sleep a night. When you don't get enough sleep it disrupts the brains' ability to get rid of toxins. Despite popular belief, you cannot "catch up" on sleep. Sleeping too much can have negative effects as much as sleeping not enough!

3. Drink Tea
Aside from water, tea may be the best beverage for a healthy body. Regularly drinking green tea can improve both memory and cognition in med. It also boosts the metabolism, lowers blood pressure, prevents bad breath, boosts the immune system, and can act as an anti-inflammatory agent.

4. Floss
This may seem silly, but flossing is important. It won't make your teeth white, but it will help to prevent bacteria from growing in your mouth and then entering the bloodstream and causing inflammation throughout the body.

5. Take Probiotics
Taking a probiotic supplement daily helps boost good stomach bacteria and helps to boost your immune system. As an added benefit, having good stomach bacteria will actually help improve your mood as well since your gut actually produces a lot of serotonin.

6. Warm up before a Work Out
We all know this is very important for both men and women, but for men, a statio stretching isn't enough, whereas in some women it is. Men need a cardio and muscle warm-up instead. This warm-up should consist of things like walking lunges and high skips. It will not only help enhance your performance as well as prevent injury.

7. Get a HIIT Workout
This work out is a high-intensity interval training work out. It has the same results and benefits of an endurance training but with less time actually working out at the gym. HIIT improves your fitness while fighting heart disease, hypertension, and diabetes.
