Greetings Thrifty Friends,

Here we are, back in the 80's this week. I liked it better when we were in the 70's. It's a lot more comfortable and my electric bill isn't nearly as high.

Speaking of which, let's get on with today's tips...

Keep pinchin' those pennies,

TODAY'S THRIFTY TIP: Watering Plants

A lot of water that goes down the drain can be used to water plants. Water that you use to steam vegetables, cook potatoes or boil eggs can be reused to water your plants. Also, when you clean out your aquarium you can use that water on your plants (as long as it's not a salt water tank). Great for the soil.

BONUS TIP: Save energy...

To see your electric bill take a nosedive, make it a habit to unplug non-essential appliances when not in use. When away from home or on vacation, these appliances can add dollars to your electric bill. It's worth the extra savings.
