Greetings Thrifty Friends,
Modern consumers seem to be addicted to their credit cards.
Just how do those balances creep up toward the limit time
and time again? Because we use them for grocery shopping,
gas, clothes and other things we shouldn't.
Spending cash will make you cash! Scroll down to find out
how.
Keep pinchin' those pennies,
Penny

TODAY'S THRIFTY TIP:
Make your routine purchases with cash instead of credit cards!
This will force you to budget. If you only have fifty dollars
in your checking account to spend on food you are going to
buy tuna instead of the fillets you were going to put on your
credit card.
And ALWAYS bring home your change.
I have used this tip for years and it still seems like getting
free money (even though I know it's really mine). I keep a
large jar (like a candy jar) on my kitchen counter and every
night when I come home I put the day's change from whatever
purchases I made in the jar. When the jar is full I take it
to the bank and usually get around $250 dollars out of it.
That is cash that would otherwise "slip through the cracks"
of my budget. I find myself using cash instead of using a
credit or debit card because I know I will be cashing in my
jar that much sooner.
