Bank accounts, stocks, even uncashed checks, people, for one reason or another, sometimes end up leaving all sorts of money behind. Luckily, states keep track of it and if the owner can't be found, the account is listed on websites like unclaimed.org.

Last year the IRS had more than $120 million in unclaimed refund checks! To find our if you're owed anything, log onto www.irs.gov where you can use the site's Where's My Refund took in a few simple steps. Or give them a call at 800-829-1954 and update your information.
