1 Thessalonians 5:8-11
But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the
breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope
of salvation.
For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation
through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, that whether
we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him.
Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as
you also are doing.

Growing up in a big city as I did, one of the great thrills
of my life now is owning a small flock of chickens; five to
be exact. There is something soothing about watching chickens
pecking around the yard; for some odd reason, it gives me a
sense of well being.
Then of course, there is the additional blessing of "fresh
squeezed" eggs, as I like to call them. We even get a kick
from hearing the rooster crow at four thirty in the morning;
the neighbors don't seem to mind either!
When I count my blessings, I'm thankful for being able to own
chickens!
