Sunday, November 25, 2012Proverbs 10:4-5
He who has a slack hand becomes poor,
But the hand of the diligent makes rich.
He who gathers in summer is a wise son;
He who sleeps in harvest is a son who causes shame.Greetings Bible Enthusiast!Ouch! Not another scripture about working hard and diligently! Some readers are still recovering from the last scripture about the ant and how we are to "look to them" as they work dilegently without needing an overseer or captain! It is clear, if you are "believing God for a mint" as I once heard a professing Christian state, than work hard, hard, hard!
God Bless You!

--TODAY'S NOT SO TRIVIAL TRIVIA QUESTION: Q. Why did Elymas withstand Paul and Barnabas?
Answer below.
********************--TODAY'S BIT OF WISDOM/REFLECTION:Thank God every morning when you get up that you have something to do that day that must be done, whether you like it or not. Being forced to work and forced to do your best will breed in you temperance and self-control, diligence and strength of will, cheerfulness and contentment, and a hundred virtues that the idle will never know.

--FEATURED FUNNY:A seafood restaurant had a sign in the window that read, "Big Lobster Tales, $5 each."
Amazed at the great value, a man stopped in and asked the waitress, "Five dollars each for lobster tails -- is that correct?"
"Yes," she said. "It's our special just for today."
"Well," he said, "they must be little lobster tails."
"No," she replied, "it's the really big lobster."
"Big red lobster tails, $5 each?" he said, amazed. "They must be old lobster tails!"
"No, they're definitely today's."
"Today's big red lobster tails -- $5 each?" he repeated, astounded.
"Yes," she insisted.
"Well, here's my five dollars," he said. "I'll take one."
She took the money and led him to a table where she invited him to sit down. She then sat down next to him, put her hand on his shoulder, leaned over close to him, and said, "Once upon a time there was a really big, red lobster..."
********************--ANSWER TO TRIVIA QUESTION: Q. Why did Elymas withstand Paul and Barnabas?
A. In order to turn the proconsul away from the faith.
Acts 13:8
But Elymas the sorcerer (for so his name is translated) withstood them, seeking to turn the proconsul away from the faith.
