Usher, Shakira to judge 'The Voice'

Shakira and Usher are to replace Christina Aguilera and CeeLo Green as mentors for Season 4 of the U.S. competition series "The Voice," NBC announced. Current "Voice" coaches Adam Levine and Blake Shelton will stay with the show when it returns for its fourth outing next spring. Aguilera and Green, who are leaving the series to fulfill other professional commitments, are expected to return the following season, Robert Greenblatt, chairman of NBC Entertainment, said in a statement Monday. "We are thrilled to welcome Usher and Shakira to 'The Voice.' The addition of these popular iconic artists continues the tradition established by Christina, CeeLo, Adam and Blake," said Greenblatt. "Doing two back-to-back cycles of this show requires a tremendous amount of time, and we are happy to accommodate the commitments made by Christina and CeeLo. The participants on our show benefit from our coaches' expertise and their continued success in the music business allows for significant new contributions to the contestants when they return."


Jean: Hill affair, lies broke up Fugees

Haitian-born recording artist Wyclef Jean says in his autobiography The Fugees broke up in 1997 after singer Lauryn Hill lied and told him he fathered her son. "In that moment something died between us. I was married and Lauryn and I were having an affair, but she led me to believe that the baby was mine, and I couldn't forgive that," the New York Post quoted Jean as writing in his book "Purpose," which is due out Tuesday. "She could not longer be my muse," he said of Hill. "Our love spell was broken." Hill later admitted Bob Marley's son, Rohan, was the father of her child.

Taylor Swift is still dating Conor Kennedy

Filmmaker Rory Kennedy says she is thrilled her nephew Conor is dating U.S. country music star Taylor Swift. The couple began seeing each other this summer. Swift, 22, is currently on tour and Conor, 18, is a senior in high school. "I think she's fantastic and I couldn't be more thrilled," Rory Kennedy told UsMagazine.com at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards in Los Angeles during the weekend. "She's a good friend of our family and we all adore her and love her. It's great to have her around."


Pattinson and Stewart are back together

British actor Robert Pattinson has reconciled with his estranged girlfriend, actress Kristen Stewart, a source close to the "Twilight" co-stars told The Sun. Pattinson, 26, broke up with Stewart, 22, after she had a brief fling with Rupert Sanders, her married 41-year-old "Snow White and the Huntsman" director in July. But The Sun said Pattinson and Stewart have since worked things out and are back together. "They pretty much decided they couldn't live without each other," the insider said, adding, "Kristen poured her heart out to Robert and told him'' her affair with Sanders "was a one-off and a mistake." "Rob sees it as Kristen made a really stupid mistake," the source said. "Rob can see how truly sorry Kristen is and has totally forgiven her. They really do love each other."
