2 Timothy 1:7

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

Greetings Bible Enthusiast!

Thursday we looked at Romans 8:15, which says that you "did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, "Abba, Father." Romans goes on to say that, "The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs -- heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together."

We are not old that we will never suffer. But, we are children of God! Think of how a child acts when s/he is hurt and frightened. Go to your heavenly Father the same way. Let Him hold you and comfort you in the midst of frightening situations. Put your trust in Him, as children do their parents!

God Bless You!

TODAY'S DAILY NOT SO TRIVIAL TRIVIA QUESTION:

Q. Where were the beautiful young virgins (remember, one was to be chosen to be queen instead of Vashti), to be gathered?

Answer below.

TODAY'S BIT OF WISDOM/REFLECTION:

God cannot give us a happiness and peace apart from Himself, because it is not there. There is no such thing.

C. S. Lewis

FEATURED FUNNY:

"I announced to my wife I was going to the supermarket with her the next time she went because the stuff she kept bringing home was not fully in the spirit of American junk food. While she was off squeezing melons, I made for the junk food section. The breakfast cereals alone could have occupied me for most of the afternoon. There must have been two hundred types. The most immediately arresting was a cereal called Cookie Crisp, which tried to pretend it was a nutritious breakfast but was really just chocolate chip cookies that you put in a bowl and ate with milk. Brilliant."

Esther 2:2-3

Let beautiful young virgins be sought for the king; and let the king appoint officers in all the provinces of his kingdom, that they may gather all the beautiful young virgins to Shushan the citadel, into the women's quarters, under the custody of Hegai the king's eunuch, custodian of the women.
