Greetings Bible Enthusiast!
One dramatic example of the need for prayer is described
in Matthew where the disciples tried to heal an epileptic
child and failed. After Jesus then healed the child, the
disciples privately asked Him why they were unable to heal
him.
Jesus first told them it was because they did not have
enough faith, but went on to say that this kind of healing
required prayer and fasting! So we know that some things
require deep prayer that involves fasting.
This is wonderful advise from Jesus Himself on how to
handle our most serious efforts at prayer; perhaps a way
to show our Lord how serious we are about a particular
matter: Fast and Pray.
