Al and Tipper Gore Separate...
It was a Washington love story that followed a Hollywood script:
But now Al and Tipper Gore's marriage is coming to an end.
The former Vice President, 62, and his wife, 61, are separating,
they announced Tuesday. The couple, who have four children, have
been married for 40 years.
The Gores said it was "a mutual and mutually supportive decision
that we have made together following a process of long and careful
consideration, according to an e-mailed statement.
Gore spokeswoman Kalee Kreider confirmed the statement came from
the couple, but declined further comment.

Guy Ritchie Targeted in House Break-In...
Where's Sherlock Holmes when you really need him?
Guy Ritchie's country house was broken into Monday morning and
his household staff foiled a potential raid.
Employees for the filmmaker, who directed last year's Sherlock
Holmes, came to the rescue as theynabbed a man in Guy's home
in England, and turned him over to police.
A police rep said that a man has been arrested but not charged.
Per police custom, the spokesman would not not name the man.
"We were called to a house following a report of a burglary,"
the spokesman says. "A 29-year-old man has been arrested in
connection with the incident and was taken to Salisbury police
station, where he was interviewed by detectives. He was later
released on police bail pending further inquiries."
Guy, who was in the house at the time of the incident, did not
see the man. Members of his staff confronted the intruder in
another part of the house, a close source reveals.
Guy's children were not in the mansion at the time. His spokesman
had no comment.

Lady Gaga Tests 'Borderline Positive' for Lupus...
Lady Gaga's friends aren't the only ones concerned for her after
she almost collapsed on stage. The singer also knows she has to
be more careful and is taking added precautions, especially after
a recent health scare.
"I have tested borderline positive for [lupus]," she says in an =
interview on Larry King Live.
"As of right now," Gaga says, "I do not have it, but I have to
take good care of myself."
When asked by Larry how she's feeling, Gaga responds with a simple,
"I'm okay," before adding that lupus, which took the life of her
aunt Joanne, does run in her family.
But Gaga, who has a full slate of summer concerts lined up, and
who earlier revealed she was tested for the disease, wants to
reassure worried fans that she hasn't shown any symptoms yet.

Ted Koppel's Son Andrew Dead After Drinking Binge...
TV newsman Ted Koppel's 40-year-old son Andrew has died,
reportedly after a daylong drinking binge in New York City.
Andrew Koppel, an attorney for the city's Housing Authority,
was found unconscious and not breathing in an apartment in
Washington Heights in the early hours Tuesday morning.
A spokesperson for the NYPD says: "Someone called 911. A guy
he was with. The call came in at 1:40 a.m. that he was
unconscious. He didn't respond, and he was pronounced dead."
According to reports, Andrew, who lived in Queens with his
girlfriend and baby daughter, began drinking around noon at
a bar in Hell's Kitchen, where he befriended a stranger,
Russell Wimberly, a 32-year-old waiter.
The pair drank all day, Andrew drinking straight whiskey,
and arrived together at the Washington Heights apartment
around 11 p.m. After Andrew complained of not feeling well,
Wimberly and a roommate, Belinda Caban, put him to bed.
They later discovered he wasn't breathing and called 911.
The medical examiner will determine the cause of death, the
NYPD comments.
Andrew was the third of Ted Koppel's four children with his
wife, Grace Anne. He had three sisters.

Charlie Sheen Will Serve Jail Time in Plea Deal...
Charlie Sheen will plead guilty to a misdemeanor offense and
get 30 days jail time, says a source close to the negotiations
in Charlie's ongoing domestic violence case.
"Charlie intends to go to court on June 7 [to] plead to a
misdemeanor and immediately begin serving his 30 days in jail,"
says the source. "With good behavior, he could end up doing 15
or so days."
While Charlie had been charged with felony menacing, misdemeanor
third-degree assault and misdemeanor criminal mischief following
a Christmas Day fight with his wife, Brooke Mueller, 32, in
Aspen, Colo., the source adds that Charlie would not be placed
on probation once he completes his jail sentence.
It's not been an easy spring for Charlie or Brooke. In February,
Brooke entered rehab for substance abuse with Charlie seeking
treatment a week later as a "preventative measure." The couple
have been living in separate homes for more than a month while
they "work on their marriage," and are currently sharing custody
of their twin boys, Max and Bob.
Earlier this month, Charlie agreed to return to his CBS hit Two
and a Half Men for two more years. The plea deal would allow
him to serve out his jail sentence with time to spare before the
new season starts shooting at the beginning of August.
