Here's the Scoop...

Well I have to say I thought Andy Samberg did a great job as host.

I did watch most of it. I had a tendency to switch back and forth between the Packers/Seahawks game.

Be Well,

Emmys: Biggest Snubs and Surprises...
Among the biggest snubs of the night:
- Beloved "Better Call Saul" star Jonathan Banks was considered the frontrunner for supporting drama actor -- so much so that his competition didn't even bother to write speeches, including winner Peter Dinklage.

- Except for Jon Hamm's big win, "Mad Men" was out of the running in the writing and directing categories for its farewell season.

- "American Horror Story: Freak Show" came away empty-handed in the acting categories -- a first for the "AHS" franchise since its inception.

- "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" made a splash with seven nominations but was not destined for Emmy glory for its first season.

Among the surprises:
- "Game of Thrones" commanded the ultimate respect from the Academy with writing, directing and best series wins.

- Regina King of "American Crime" prevailed over the showier work by a two-headed Sarah Paulson and a bearded Kathy Bates in "American Horror Story: Freak Show"

- "The Voice" dethroned long-time reality series champ "The Amazing Race" for a second time in three years.

- Tony Hale of "Veep" topped odds-on favorite Tituss Burgess of "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" in the supporting comedy actor field.

- With its stage pedigree, PBS' "Wolf Hall" seemed like Emmy bait, but it had no traction with voters in final judging.

- Director David Nutter, a winner for "Game of Thrones," is known as the king of drama pilots, but his first series Emmy win came for a show that he did not helm at the pilot stage. (He previously won an Emmy for his work on the HBO mini "Band of Brothers.")

Sofia Vergara Confirms Wedding Date to Joe Manganiello...
Sofia Vergara and fiancé Joe Manganiello will indeed marry in November.

The 43-year-old actress confirmed her fall wedding in an interview with E! News nearly two months after it was first reported she and Manganiello will tie the knot Nov. 22 in Palm Beach, Fla.

"I got inspired on my wedding that is in November, so we did a fragrance that is romantic and sexy at the end of the night," she told host Ryan Seacrest of her new Love by Sofia Vergara perfume.

Vergara and Manganiello were the picture-perfect couple at the annual awards ceremony, arriving arm-in-arm on the red carpet. The actress later shared a photo of herself with the 38-year-old actor at the Fox after-party on Instagram, writing, "With the love of my life."

The couple have been together since summer 2014, and got engaged in December of that year. They are expected to marry at The Breakers Palm Beach resort, which sits oceanfront and can accommodate up to 800 guests.

Vergara will return as Gloria Delgado-Pritchett on season 7 of ABC sitcom Modern Family come Sept. 23. Manganiello is best known for portraying Alcide Herveaux on HBO series True Blood, and is slated for Pee-wee's Big Holiday with Paul Reubens in 2016.

Whitey Bulger Declined To Meet With Johnny Depp About 'Black Mass' Movie, Actor Says...
Johnny Depp says he tried to meet James "Whitey" Bulger before he played him in the film Black Mass, but the imprisoned Boston gangster wasn't interested in having his brain picked by an actor.

"The first thing I did was contact Bulger's lawyer [J.W.] Carney to request... I wanted the opportunity to meet Jimmy Bulger. To hear his take, certainly," Depp said at a recent Toronto International Film Festival press conference.

"Because when I played Donnie Brasco, I was very fortunate to have spent a lot of time with Joe Pistone and, in that, I was able to make a lot of changes in the screenplay that weren't remotely true, so I was able to get that stuff in," the 52-year-old actor explained.

"With Jimmy Bulger, I don't know what it might have been like, what I would have taken from that other than being able to study him and sponge from him. But about a week after I made the request, I got a message from Mr. Carney that said that Jimmy respectfully declines as he is not a great fan - as you can imagine - of the book. Nor any of the books. So, from there on, I had Mr. Carney who was right up front saying, 'I will tell you these bits, but I will not...' He would never put his client into any sort of weird situation. But he was very helpful with, I suppose, the heart of Bulger and I hate to say the character, but the heart of the man. Then there is a little bit of surveillance footage. There is very little audio. ... But the people of South Boston were incredibly helpful with regard to that accent because even South Boston is different from other little slivers of Massachusetts. Southie's really got its own language, almost."

Bulger ran his crime syndicate for decades before going on the lam in 1994 and hiding out until his arrest in California in 2011. He was tried in 2013 and convicted of money laundering, extortion, weapons offenses and racketeering -- a charge that encompassed his involvement in 11 murders. Exonerated in eight additional homicides, Bulger was sentenced to two life sentences and five years behind bars. His defense team is now working on his appeal. Bulger is 86.

??? Guess Who ???

The star who says her movie caused potential dates to 'run'?

It's Dakota Johnson... She says her racy role in Fifty Shades of Grey actually scares men away more often than not.

The 25-year-old actress, who also appears in Black Mass starring Johnny Depp, spoke with television host Ellen DeGeneres this week to discuss her dating life and her upcoming sequel, Fifty Shades Darker.

Johnson says after playing Anastasia Steele in the first installment of the Fifty Shades franchise, people simply treat her differently.

"Well, sometimes, people just say things that are a little bit awkward for me," she said. "Like, I was in a cab recently, and the driver was like, 'My wife and I, we saw your film. We really liked it.' And he goes, '...I thought there could be more sex.'"

The star admitted she is also having trouble in the romance department because of the high-profile role. When asked by DeGeneres if people are more attracted, or more afraid of her after the fact, Johnson said if given those two options, she'd have to choose the latter.

"I guess they're scared of me," she joked. "They either love me or they're running for the hills...Mostly running for the hills."

The actress revealed she will start filming for Fifty Shades Darker sometime next year. Johnson's Black Mass debuted in theaters Thursday.
