Sunday, October 19, 2014Hello Video Lovers,
Thanks to re-runs and cable television The Andy Griffith Show and the town of Mayberry, North Carolina continue to live on in popular culture.
While the show has always been a fan favorite, some of the most popular episodes are the ones featuring the Darling family; patriarch Briscoe Darling played by Denver Pyle, and his musical family who were played by the bluegrass band The Dillards (and let's not forget daughter Charlene played by Maggie Peterson).
Fans knew that every episode featuring the Darlings would include Mr. Darling and 'the boys' playing some foot-stomping mountain music.
In this clip the Darlings are accompanied by Andy on the guitar as they play 'Dooley'.
So grab your stringin' instrument and a-one and a-two and away we go!
