Happy first of the month...

There few current bands that are as retro-cool and hard rockin' as The Black Keys. The twosome (guitarist and drummer) may resemble the White Stripes in some ways, but have certainly differentiated from the same kind of blues rock with Dan Auerbach's soulful delivery and unmistakable catchiness.

Their songs have been used in what seems to be hundreds of advertising campaigns from movie trailers to jewelry stores. One of my favorite from their latest album, "Tighten Up" is one of the catchiest tunes.

The single was produced by Dangermouse and has that vague atmospheric feel with crisp tamborines and whistling by Auerbach. The video is one of two the band released, the first featuring Frank the Funkasaurus Rex (a handpuppet). I decided to showcase the playground version, since the band actually appears in it - so all of you unfamiliar with the band can start following this great blues-rock duo.
