Saturday, November 5, 2011Hello Everyone...
The Beatles. Are. The. Greatest. Band the world has ever known. There is no disputing that. I don't mean the best, or favorite, but "great" as in important. If some supposed music fan comes up and tells me that they don't care for the Fab Four, I tell them they just haven't done their research. The band has a song for everyone, and danced back and forth various genres with ease. Their early rockabilly is among the best of their contemporaries, their blues-rock was pretty good, and they even have some loud-distortion punk with songs like Helter Skelter and Revolution.
My personal favorite is the semi-psychedelic Dear Prudence. The song is wonderfully arranged with dreamy guitars, uplifting tones and a killer bassline. There are elements of current-day indie artistry, and an inspiring atmosphere.
