Denzel Washington has been selected as the guest speaker at
the University of Pennsylvania's graduation ceremony.
Denzel, whose son Malcolm attends the prestigious Ivy League
college, will deliver the commencement address and also receive
an honorary degree.
Author Joyce Carol Oates and New York Times columnist Nicholas
Kristof are among several others who will receive honorary
degrees at the ceremony on May 16.

Elizabeth Taylor Has Died...
Elizabeth Taylor, the Hollywood icon and Oscar-winner who was
practically born in the spotlight, died Wednesday morning. She
was 79.
"She was surrounded by her children: Michael Wilding,
ChristopherWilding, Liza Todd and Maria Burton," Taylor's
publicist, Sally Morrison, said in a statement. In addition
to her children, Elizabeth is survived by 10 grandchildren
and four great grandchildren.
On Feb. 11, it was announced that she had been in taken to
Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles earlier that week
for symptoms caused by congestive heart failure, and around
1:30 a.m.Wednesday, she "peacefully died there," according to
her publicist."Though she had recently suffered a number of
complications, her condition had stabilized and it was hoped
that she would be able to return home. Sadly, this was not to
be."
A stunning beauty with mesmerizing violet eyes and a double
set of eyelashes, Elizabeth was catapulted to superstardom as
a child, though she lived larger than life both on screen and
off even long after she had retired from movies and became a
perfume mogul.

Michael Lohan Charged with Domestic Violence...
Michael Lohan is due in court, but not for his daughter Lindsay
Lohan's sake.
Lindsay's father, 50, has been formally charged with one count of
misdemeanor domestic violence, stemming from his arrest Monday,
after a female accused him of hitting her in a nearby apartment.
The victim was reportedly his ex-girlfriend Kate Major.
He was initially arrested for three felonies, including false
imprisonment, but the Los Angeles District Attorney's office
declined to pursue those charges.
Michael, was released Tuesday afternoon from L.A.'s Cedars-Sinai
Medical Center for problems not related to the incident, is
scheduled to appear at Beverly Hills Court for his arraignment
on May 23.

Gwen Stefani Donates $1 Million to Japan Relief Efforts...
She might be a rich girl, but Gwen Stefani is also a generous
humanitarian.
On Wednesday the No Doubt singer, 41, donated $1 million to
Save the Children?s Japan Earthquake-Tsunami Children in
Emergency Fund to help with recovery efforts in the devastated
nation.
"I've been inspired by Japan for many years and have a true
love, appreciation and respect for the Japanese people and
their culture," Gwen said in a statement. "The disaster in
Japan is beyond heartbreaking, and I want to do anything I
can to help. I would never be able to make a gesture like
this without the love and support of all the fans over all
these years."
In addition to her donation, Gwen, who is mom to Kingston, 4,
and Zuma, 2, is also encouraging her fans to contribute. Next
week the L.A.M.B. designer will unveil a limited edition
Harajuku Lovers T-shirt through nodoubt.com; all proceeds from
sales will go to help in relief efforts.

Bam Margera beaten up for mocking woman...
"Jackass" star Bam Margera was knocked out cold by a woman
after poking fun at her friend's weight during a boozy night
out at the South by Southwest festival in Texas.
The stuntman and reality TV star took offense when someone
said "something rude" to him at an event on Thursday night
and he fired back by taking aim at one of the "drunk's" "big
girl" friends.
Bam says, "I called her a sea otter and asked her why she's
in Texas. She should be in Alaska laying on an iceberg
because she's a beached whale."
The woman's friend turned on him and punched. As Bam fell to
the ground, the woman delivered another blow that knocked
him out.
Bam reveals he was out cold for seven minutes and came round
"covered in blood" and with a black eye. Someone also made
off with his $500 bracelet.

Pink delighted with baby shower...
Pregnant pop star Pink celebrated the upcoming birth of her
first child with a baby shower.
The "So What" hitmaker and her husband Carey Hart are set to
welcome their first tot this spring and are busy preparing
for their new arrival.
Pink took time out to relax over the weekend and was delighted
when her mother Judith threw a bash to mark her daughter's
pregnancy, and Pink was lavished with gifts for the baby.
In a post on her Twitter.com page, Pink writes, "Such an
amazing weekend with my family. My mama threw me a baby shower
+ this bambino already has too much stuff!!!!!!!"

soap "Beverly Hills, 90210."
It's Actress Gabrielle Carteris...
Gabrielle was 29 when she auditioned to play 16-year-old Andrea
Zuckerman on the show.
The TV icon even took legal advice to make sure she could sign
contracts for the show without revealing her real age.
She says, "I actually talked to a lawyer about how could I sign
these contracts and lie about my age and still be able to do
the show: 'Is it OK?' 'Yes it is, as long as you just say
you're over 21'."
But Gabrielle explains her real age was uncovered "illegally"
by a snooping reporter.
She says," "A magazine that I won't say did an interview on the
show and they asked my age and I said, 'I don't talk about my
age...' and they found it in the DMV - illegally.
"I thought, 'This is it, I'm gonna lose the job...' By that
time the show had been on long enough (and) I was OK."
