December 22, 2011Hello Everyone,After spending an entire day outside, in cold, there is nothing more relaxing than a hot bath. However, this is not the best choice you can make for your skin. Hot water dehydrates and removes the natural oils from skin level. Replace baths with quick showers with tepid water. And don't forget to apply moisturizing lotions after.

Hint 1: Growing up with the Chicago winters most of us have experiences cars not starting in the morning from the cold, frozen locks, icy roads, etc. Many of us have our own tips and tricks to get us through the blistery winters here, but here's one hint that many of us use...
A good general rule to start with - always warm up your car or truck before you go driving in the winter. Revving a cold engine causes additional wear, and a warm car with cleared windows is much more safe and comfortable to get into.

Hint 2: Here are some fun and frugal activities to do while the kids are on Christmas break...
Feed the birds. Cover a pine cone with peanut butter; then roll in birdseed. Hang in a tree outside your window so the kids can watch the birds as they eat.
Let the kids make a tent out of a card table with an old blanket or sheet hung over it. You could even let them eat a picnic lunch inside.
