Today's featured video was suggested by one of our readers - (Thanks Nancy!) I'm sorry to say that the subject line for today's issue may have given away the big secret - because today's video is indeed a bulldog surfing. He does so with such elegance, flair, and obvious love for surfing that would make Kelly Slater proud - and yes, he is the only surfer I know.
The soundtrack is unfortunately set to the Beach Boy's "Surfin USA"...and though I'm sure I'll get a slew of comments on how the Beach Boys are great, I just never found them anything but annoying. The way they sing sorta resonates in my head in a way that crosses my eyes and makes me bleed from the ears - and yes, I tend to exaggerate a bit. I know this indie-hipster kid who claims he likes the Beach Boys better than the Beatles - but I think he just says that because liking the Beatles is "too mainstream." I'm sure you know the type.
I also write the Music History Videos newsletter, so I tend to pay attention to the music sometimes. But today's clip is pretty cool - with our without a muted YouTube player. Thanks again Nancy, and if anyone else has a suggestion for a video, send me an email - I just might feature it next week!
