Hint #1

Don't panic if your soup's too salty: Add cut raw potatoes
and throw them away once they are cooked and have absorbed the salt. Your soup's saved!

Deter your cat from digging in large potted plants by
placing pine cones on the top of the soil. Cats don't like
to step on them and won't pull them out! Added benefit: the cones let water through and add nutrients to the soil as they degrade.
