Ledgers say they are close to Matilda

Heath Ledger's parents say they have a wonderful relationship with the late Australian actor's 7-year-old daughter, who lives in New York. Ledger died of an accidental drug overdose five years ago at the age of 28, leaving behind little Matilda, his only child with his ex-girlfriend, actress Michelle Williams. "Matilda has the same
walk as Heath and is such a respectful little kid -- she calls us 'Papa' and 'Grandma Sal.' Our family has the most wonderful relationship with both Matilda and Michelle. We talk frequently and visit as often as we can," Ledger's father, Kim, told the Australian magazine, New Idea. "Matilda is indeed very much like her dad -- she has long limbs and similar features," Ledger's mother, Sally, told New Idea. "However, she also possesses the beauty of her mamma -- lucky girl." Kim and Sally Ledger, who still live in Australia, memorably traveled to Los Angeles and were presented with Ledger's Oscar, which he won for his turn as the Joker in "The Dark Knight," shortly after his death. Heath Ledger's other films include "A Knight's Tale," "Monster's Ball," "Brokeback Mountain" and "I'm Not There."

Snyder not developing 'Star Wars' film

Zack Snyder's publicist says the Hollywood filmmaker is not developing a new "Star Wars" movie, contrary to online rumors. "While he is super flattered because he is a huge fan, Zack is not involved in any way with 'Star Wars.' He is currently in post [production] on his two films, 'Man of Steel' and '300: Battle of Artemisia,'" Snyder's representative said in a statement Monday. The comment was made in response to reports claiming Snyder is developing a standalone "Star Wars" movie inspired by the 1954 classic "Seven Samurai," EW.com reported Monday. "Little Miss Sunshine" and "Toy Story 3" scribe Michael Arndt is writing the screenplay for the recently announced "Star Wars: Episode VII," however, no director or cast has been announced yet.

Mindy McCready's boyfriend dies

Troubled country music artist Mindy McCready says singer- ongwriter David Wilson, her boyfriend of two years, has died at home in Heber Springs, Ark. "David was my soul mate," McCready said in a statement Monday. "He was a precious gift from God to all of us and, yesterday, he returned home and is now with his mother and father. David loved and was loved. Those who knew and loved him will miss him; those who did not know David missed the opportunity to know a truly loving and gifted man." People.com said the cause of Wilson's death Sunday was not immediately disclosed and no funeral plans have been made yet. Wilson, 34, is the father of McCready's 9-month-old son. McCready's once-bright career has been sidelined in recent years by her substance abuse issues, suicide attempts and legal woes.

Kate and William's baby due in July

Prince William's wife, Kate, is due to give birth to her first child in July, officials for the royals announced Monday in London. William and Kate, who were married in April 2011, confirmed her pregnancy last month when she was treated for extreme morning sickness and dehydration. "Their royal highnesses, the duke and duchess of Cambridge, are delighted to confirm they are expecting a baby in July," St. James Palace said in a statement. "The duchess' condition continues to improve since her stay in hospital last month." The BBC quoted an unnamed source as saying the couple will not reveal the gender of the baby until he or she is born.

It's Megan Fox

The 'Transformers' actress tells Esquire magazine she wanted to be like Marilyn Monroe and even has a tattoo of the late actress on her arm, but has now begun the process of having it removed. The 26-year-old says she read about Monroe's "difficult life" where she had "all the potential in the world" that was wasted. Monroe, she says, "wasn't reliable" and "almost wasn't insurable." She goes on to compare Lindsay Lohan to Monroe. Fox says she's "not interested in following in those footsteps." Fox now admires Ava Gardner who "was a broad" who spoke her mind and "had power." Esquire's February issue goes on sale Jan. 22.
