George Wendt Hospitalized

George Wendt, the veteran actor who played Norm on "Cheers," is expected to recover completely after being hospitalized with chest pains, a spokesman says. His illness has forced Wendt to drop out of a production of "The Odd Couple" that was scheduled to begin previews Nov. 9, the Chicago Tribune reported. He will be replaced as Oscar by Mark Grapey, a veteran of the recent New York production with Matthew Broderick and Nathan Lane, who had been playing Murray, Timothy Evans, director of the Northlight Theater in Skokie, said. Evans said Wendt is "expected to make a full recovery." He was hospitalized Sunday evening.
Tim Kazurinsky, like Wendt a veteran of Chicago's famed Second City troupe, plays Felix in the production.

Eminem coming out with new album

Detroit rapper Eminem announced he had a new album in the pipeline through a limited-edition baseball cap. The dark blue lid has an emblem that resembles the Motor City's beloved Tigers and also lists the years that Eminem's solo albums were released, including 2013. Entertainment Weekly said Tuesday the 2013 likely means his new project, which has been in the works since May, will drop sometime in the coming year. Not many details about the record have surfaced; however, producers Dr. Dre and No I.D. have reportedly been involved. Eminem's last solo CD was "Recovery," which came out in 2010.

Hulk Hogan Settles Lawsuit

Hulk Hogan's civil lawsuit against Florida radio personality Bubba the Love Sponge has been settled, a Hogan spokesman said. The suit was filed as the result of a sex videotape featuring Hogan, real name Terry Bollea, and the former wife of Bubba, real name Todd Alan Clem, E! Online said. Terms of the settlement were not announced but Clem read an apology to Hogan on his radio show Monday, stating he is convinced Hogan was unaware he was being videotaped, and it is Clem's belief Hogan was not involved in profiting from the tape's release to the public. David R. Houston, Hogan's attorney, said Bollea "is pleased that Mr. Clem finally stated the truth and apologized for his false statements." Hogan's lawsuit against Gawker Media, which posted excerpts of the videotape on its website, is still pending, E! Online said.

Disney announces deal to acquire Lucasfilm

Walt Disney Co. has agreed to acquire Lucasfilm and the U.S. entertainment giant said it will release a new live-action "Star Wars" movie. Disney, based in Burbank, Calif., said Tuesday it has agreed to pay $4.05 billion for Lucasfilm, based in San Francisco, and plans to release a seventh live-action "Star Wars" film in 2015. The acquisition includes control of the "Star Wars" franchise and ownership of the Industrial Light & Magic visual effects company, Skywalker Sound and LucasArts, a publisher of video games, the Los Angeles Times reported. "This transaction combines a world- lass portfolio of content including 'Star Wars,' one of the greatest family entertainment franchises of all time, with Disney's unique and unparalleled creativity across multiple platforms, businesses and markets to generate sustained growth and drive significant long-term value," Disney Chief Executive Officer Bob Iger said in a statement. Disney intends to exploit the "Star Wars" franchise in its theme parks, consumer products, television and digital platforms, the Times reported. The acquisition is part of Iger's push to expand Disney, including the 2009 acquisition of Marvel Entertainment for $4 billion. Disney acquired Pixar -- the animation studio that turned out the "Toy Story" and "Cars" franchises -- in 2006. George Lucas, the owner of Lucasfilm and director of the "Star Wars" live-action movies, announced in June he plans to retire. He named producer Kathleen Kennedy to take over as chief executive, and Kennedy will become president of Lucasfilm if regulatory authorities approve the deal, the Times said.
"I've always believed that 'Star Wars' could live beyond me, and I thought it was important to set up the transition during my lifetime," Lucas said in a statement. "I'm confident that with Lucasfilm under the leadership of Kathleen Kennedy, and having a new home within the Disney organization, 'Star Wars' will certainly live on and flourish for many generations to come."

It's The Hansons....

The famous fathers liken the relationship between three of their sons to their own tight-knit trio. Each of us have a boy that was born in 2008 they sort of fit our roles," Zac, 27, explains. "Viggo he's kind of the mastermind, and Isaac's 4-year-old Monroe, he's kind of the show man, the frontman, he's very outgoing. And my son Shepherd... he hits things! He's sort of the muscle."
